  1. Hi Stephen , I'm behind on catching up with my subscribed turning videos as I have been busy just lately...However This is on it way to being a lovely vase mate and will catch up with part two asap!
    Cheers for now , Bram
  2. I am a subscriber to your channel and enjoy your videos very much.  Recently, Youtube did
something to their software that makes it difficult for me see your new videos. After signing in, I was always able to click on the "subscriptions" button and see which of my subscribed channels had posted new videos.  On Friday, March 10th this feature went away but it came back on Saturday, March 11 and worked until Friday March 17th, when it went away again.  It has still not returned to this date.  It is difficult to go through all my subscriptions in order to see those who have posted new videos.  This is especially true when you get the nitwits that post other You Tubers videos under their own name.
I have been informing Youtube of this problem every day but do not seem to be getting any response at all.  Everyone suffers here, not just your subscribers.
I am hoping that you have some influence with Youtube and can contact them to help remedy this situation.  Many thanks.
  3. Beautiful turning Stephen and as always, excellent teaching video.  I am curious about the original log that you started with. Do you have a picture of that or maybe what the dimensions were? The vase opening is not into end grain, correct?  Thank you again!
  4. GREAT JOB . I love the comment on hoping the car will blow up
  5. hi.Stephen, have you of will you think about making a video on the hooked tool please..
    R
  6. Hi Steve. Have you put up part 2?
  7. Looks great so far....I'm anxiously awaiting part 2!
  8. That is going to be a stunner Stephen, love the minimal use of epoxy, for maximum effect. Eagerly awaiting part two my friend.
Great to see you at the lathe again :)
    Take care
    Mike
  9. Stephen,,,I'm learning from every video I watch here and I suspect many others are as well.
I would also be interested in seeing a video on how you made your hook hollowing tool.
I made all of my carbide tools and bought the cutters from Capt Eddie.
Do you use carbide tools at all?
    Thanks for another great video!
    Tom
  10. Stephen you never disappoint; thanks again!
  11. Great video as usual. I really like turquoise also. I use the old CA and wood dust technique to fill burl wood for my knife handles. I see you use alumilite products for several things. I guess I need to try there stuff. I use that gorilla glue epoxy often, but only in cool weather. I had it set up twice on me last summer before I could get the handles on the blade. Could you have used the alumilite to attach the rim? Can't wait to see part2
  12. You make a good point about tenon vs recess. I put a recess on a bowl the other day. Was turning out really good... then pop. It exploded. The recess caused me to split the wood open rather than clamp the wood tight. I only have half the bowl. Haven't yet found the rest. It was a practice piece of Doug fir
  13. I've only been turning for two years, your videos are an inspiration! Always love seeing what you do.
  14. Hey Stephen, Looking forward to part 2. Your work is a great inspiration to me. Thanks
  15. Looking forward to the next part, thanks for sharing!
  16. like to see you make that hook tool! Well Sir, I hopes you did not need to rob a bank to afford those Carter and Son tools, I have been slowly replacing my tools for Carter and Son tools too. hurry up o part 2, can't wait to see the finish.
  17. Looking foward to part 2
  18. Hi, Stephen---beautiful vase---Do you dilute the deft?  If so, with what?  And, please do a video on how you made your tool--it looks real handy for deep vases, etc.  How could you adjust making the tool to make it cut deeper? TY
  19. I throughly enjoy your voice over narration technique. It permits focused viewing by the viewer. Sir you are a very gifted turner. I especially enjoyed this video. Beautiful vase!
  20. I cheated a little and spotted a glimpse of the finished vase in your intro. :) It looks great, but I'll wait, with your other subs, to see the procedure for coating the interior with epoxy...and the product used. Was that Deft you used the lacquer sanding sealer? One more question, is the hollowing tool you use a shop made tool or "Store Bought"?
