That McDonalds in downey is still open and I have been there. Looks exactly the same.
Bob's was the best....great sauce on the burgers.
Funny how Monorails were one innovation that never got built-they looked incredibly modern, but were never adopted. We still ride around in 1920's-looking street cars.

Thanks for the video. It was really interesting. Could anyone tell me if that old McDonalds is still standing? If it was listed as a heritage site or whatever, then that would mean it couldn't be but... I wouldn't put it past people to knock it down. I understand businesses need to change with the times and 'stay modern' but jeez, do *all* the cool retro places have to be torn down?! It's so sad!
