The left-hand side of this street retains much of its original domestic character, although the buildings gradually became lodging houses in the later 19th Century. Notice the Telephone Exchange on the right with interesting 1960s' ceramic tiled panels. Beyond that the Blackpool Post Office extension built in 1930 is an iron-framed building clad in red brick. Continue ahead to Cedar Square, passing The Cedar Tavern (21) on the left. This classic early faience building originally opened in 1931 as the Liverpool & London & Globe Insurance Company's Blackpool Offices before becoming a pub in the late twentieth century.
