Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

3D Printing comes to the rescue as Chuck broke the household broom and needs to fix it before his wife finds out. He used it on the porch to sweep snow and now the race is on to fix it before she knows. He uses his $154 3D printer and Proto-Pasta HTPLA to print a replacement insert found on Thingiverse. ***** Support the Channel ****************** Financial Support through Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/elproducts Support the Channel here and shop at MatterHackers.com and you automatically donate to the channel at no cost to you: http://bit.ly/1Ugcijp Support this Channel with purchases through Amazon. 7. You should just print the whole boom! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1028129

I dont know why this print isn't more popular and it was created way before the hairy Lion!
  8. I'm Tellin ...
  9. I love the way we can 3D Print repairs for many things that would have normally been thrown away. I think we waste so much that just need a little did. great video.
  10. 3D Printer saved my marriage. There's bound to be a newspaper that runs that headline :-)
    Great work Chuck.
  11. i think the T3CHKOMMIE is pronounced "Tech Kommie" not "T3 Chkommie" but either awsome video as always
  12. A better game plan would be.... repair the broken broom with a single dot of super glue and return the broom back where you got it... The wife picks up the broom and the end falls off. You jump to the rescue and offer to save her day by 3d printing a part without mentioning its published on thingieverse. Estimate the design and print at 6 hours and viola you have 6 hours of man cave time without being nagged to do anything :-)
  13. have you already tried rectangle supports, MakersMuse have video about them, you just set one angle in the supports to 0 and nezt one to 90. They are very strong
  14. This is perfect! I have 3 broken broom handles here at home that I will fix. I thought I would have to go into Fusion 360 and design my own, I should have known that someone would have already designed this part, it's a common problem. I think I will try to print it out of polycarbonate or nylon and see how that works. Thanks for sharing your fix Chuck!... Time to heat up my printers.
  15. I believe you read as tech commie. Doesn't everyone use a broom on snow? :)
  16. I love it when a plan comes together!
