The autonomous car, the unmanned Aerial vehicle, and human like robots are a 21st century reality. Amazon expects to deliver products to your house using a drone. Google is designing a car which will pick you up, deliver you where you want to go, and wait around the corner until you tell it to come get you. These things were designed by engineers. Our guest today is Dr. Brad Noble, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. His specialties include: embedded systems and computer architecture, sensors and interfacing, network engineering and security, parallel and distributed systems, and signal processing. He joined the university faculty in 1996, has taught 18 different subjects and has been the recipient of both the SIUE Teaching Excellence Award and the SIUE Alumni Association's Great Teacher Award. Recently he collaborated with Dr. Mike Shaw in the Chemistry department. As a result, SIUE was granted a patent for an instrument fundamental to the field of electrochemistry and is essential for battery and fuel cell research and design. Conversation with Lee Presser is a weekly half hour television program seen for nearly sixteen years in the St. Louis market on Charter Cable TV.
