After a fire destroyed the town of Ålesund in 1904, it was rebuilt in the style of the times… Art Nouveau. To help rebuild, Kaiser Wilhelm II ordered ship after ship of building materials and provisions to be sent north to his favorite vacationland. Enjoy a walk around the town in the rain.
