Browse more at http://give.jdrftypeone.com Chula Vista has a rich architectural heritage, ranging from Victorian “orchard houses” and Craftsman bungalows to a host of tile-and-stucco buildings in the Spanish style. Throw in an Art Deco hotel, a few Colonial Revival houses and some fanciful interpretations of Tudor and Norman architecture, and it is clear that Chula Vista's historic buildings represent an eclectic mix of styles as well as a window into its past. About 70 houses and commercial buildings have been designated as Chula Vista historic sites, and a few of those are protected under the Mills Act. Many more are worthy of designation, but remain unprotected pending City Council approval of a historic preservation ordinance that has been in the works since 2007. The Historic Homeowners of Chula Vista are committed to preserving our historic homes and to educating the community about this irreplaceable resource through our website and occasional tours. We believe that old houses have a lot to tell us about the people who shaped the city and about the times in which they lived. The work to create transformational therapies to help people live with T1D cannot—and must not—be allowed to stop because dedicated researchers lack funds. Laboratory studies that are unlocking the mysteries of T1D and accelerating progress toward a cure and prevention must continue. With the generous help of supporters like you, JDRF is pursuing a diversified, dynamic research agenda that is moving us ever closer to a world without T1D. If you live with T1D, you spend a lot of time thinking about your blood-sugar levels now and worrying about the complications that T1D may one day bring. You don’t want anyone else you love to ever know the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease takes. You want a cure. JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. In 2013 an important social event was held at Washington – JDRF Children’s Congress. This congress last for three days and each day was equally important. The first day all the delegates made acquaintance with each other and told their life stories about having diabetes. Even grown-ups shared their experiences and proved that normal life exists with T1D. Then all the delegates gathered in a chorus with Chrystal and sang a song "Promise to remember me". This song became a symbol of JDRF Children’s Congress. The third day was an official one. T1D kids met with the congressmen and senators. Children were the best advocacy for JDRF. Also there was an official meeting - Senate Committee – dedicated to the discussion of crucial questions.
