Kay / Peacock Jewelry Store @ Chicago's Palmer House The Peacock family has been in the Chicago jewelry business since 1837. The same year Chicago was chartered as a city. Today 179 years later they still operate three stores. We have in this clip what was their most famous location at the corner of Monroe and State streets as part of the historic Palmer House hotel. As you can see this location is now part of the Kay Jewelers empire but the art deco meets Egyptian revival look remains.
