Art Deco Makes New York City Great

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Many of the famous older skyscrapers of Manhattan were constructed during the Art Deco period. These are just a few examples including the Empire State Building, and Chrysler Building. I hope you enjoy the city. A video by Alan G. Wasenius

  5. This is one of the best videos I've seen on Youtube. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
  6. There seems to be a fuzzy line where Art Deco ends and "Moderne" or "Streamlined" styling begins. One is definitely based on the other but "Art Deco" tends to be more consistently symmetrical. In either case, whatever you call them, they are forms of styling that should be revived, I'm getting tired of the glass boxes and deconstructionist crud prevalent today. I think that the Hotel New Yorker was featured in the original "Ghost Busters" movie but may be wrong.
