  14. Possibly George III didn't have porphyria.  His urine may have turned blue because he was taking essence of gentian and he may have suffered from bipolar disorder.
  15. Agree at documentary. Gotta love Lucy :)
  16. Even the kings and princes who were not "considered" excessive were incredibly excessive. They just managed their image more carefully than others. They had absolute power, authority and wealth; it rots the mind and the moral compass. Wastrels and gluttons who live in a separate reality. The history of "royal" England is jam-packed with alcoholic gamblers destroying the family fortune and reputation through their insane behaviors.

It gets really old, really quickly. Can't understand the fascination with these people. What did they actually do for anyone other than themselves? Henry the 8th almost destroyed England through his greed, excess and pathetic attempts at warmongering. And marriage. Not to mention his complete incompetence when it came to matters of money.

England should thank his daughter every day for ensuring that England, as a nation, remained intact. Henry did have the wherewithal to guarantee his daughters would inherit the throne.

I like Lucy, but I am utterly bored by the choice in topic.
  17. I Love Lucy! [all puns intended]
  18. I like how Lucy is commenting on the fact that the British generals were put in corners of the waterloo chamber, as if they're not important at all. While she's doing the same by showing the big Lion monument and not even mention the fact that the Dutch and Prussians were also present at Waterloo. As if they weren't important at all.
  19. Ms. Worsley sure touches a lot of artifacts with bare hands. Most historians I know would handle even one hundred year old items with gloved hands to protect them from skin oils.
