Blue Mountains Wildflowers - Fine Art Linocut Tutorial

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

An Art Deco inspired Fine Art linocut showcasing the wildflowers from the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains region west of Sydney NSW, Australia. Whilst highlighting some of the diverse flora of this region this design also pays homage to the strong Art Deco architecture and design found throughout the Greater Blue Mountains region. In particular this artwork is inspired by an Art Deco mirror inherited from family who visited the Blue Mountains extensively throughout the 1930′s to the 1980′s. This video shows the process from the inspiration, to the designing, drawing, carving, printing and handcolouring of a Fine Art Limited Edition Linocut print.
