"Brazil" is a reference to the perception that in the dawn of the 80's, Brazil(country) was consumating what Orwell had predicted: political totalirism(militar dictatorship) + absolute midiatic alienation (Globo Television dominated 80% of audience on that time - and the joy of music, football and carnival were it's specialities, from where lies the irony of the movie). The same idea inspired, in the 90's, the documentary "Beyond Citizen Kane" , of BBC, and this time Brazil weren't the consumation of Orwell's nightmare, but of Welles'. Nowadays, 31 years later, nor the movie, neither the documentary have any fame in Brazil, as they never had. I wonder why.
  20. This is the reality now.
