http://www.watchuwant.com Reborn for 2011, the Breitling Transocean line has become the Solothurn watchmaker's go-to for enthusiasts who prefer classical Breitling style and heritage-inspired design. If big bling isn't your thing, the Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime may be the Breitling for you. The Transocean Unitime combines Breitling's in-house B05 world time chronograph movement with a 46mm steel case that pays homage to great mid-century Breitlings of the company's salad days in La Chaux-de-Fonds. During the 1950s and 1960s, the company's Chronomat, Navitimer, and Superocean professional watches were associated with world-wandering adventure, and the Transocean Chronograph Unitime draws upon this heritage to inspire its unique aesthetic. True to its name, the Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime pairs a chronograph stopwatch mechanism with a world time complications. Each of the 24 reference cities on the world time chapter ring represents one of the world's 24 principal time zones. A 24-hour timing ring rotates counterclockwise and allows the user to read instantly the time in any city of the world; the hour in each city is the hour adjacent to the city name on the 24-hour ring. Breitling's world time complication benefits from the expansive and high-contrast black dial. With so much real estate available (thank the decidedly non-retro 46mm case), Breitling is able to expand the city names, calibrations, and hour indices to a readable scale. Few world time watches offer such ease of use. Moreover, a stylized projection of an aviator's world chart graces the center dial; its a welcome flourish that enhances the romantic ambiance of an already evocative timepiece. Breitling's in-house caliber B05 movement provides motive power to the Transocean Chronograph Unitime's mass of complications. With a 70-hour power reserve, date, automatic winding, and innovative architecture, the B05 ensures that nostalgic style notwithstanding, this Breitling belongs to the 21st century. Breitling completes the period character of the Transocean Chronograph Unitime with a sublime Ocean Classic chain mesh bracelet. Simultaneously tough and silky smooth, the bracelet is a dead-ringer for the versatile mesh unit that saw service on Breitling sports watches during the 50s and 60s.
