Brett Stevens writes on the topics of nihilism, deep ecology, nationalism and anti-work. We begin by talking about Brett’s ideological journey, which began with anarcho-capitalism and eventually led him to Neoreaction and the Alt-Right. Brett then tells us about his book, Nihilism. We learn that nihilism in this context doesn’t refer to an absence of values, but rather a philosophical process by which one discards all preconceived notions in order to discover the truth. This process, Brett explains, is rooted in realism, for it eschews emotional perspectives and concerns for arbitrary social norms. We then discuss consequentialism, which leads to a consideration of the role of violence in civilization. The first hour also delves into what we can learn from nature, the idea that all institutions are businesses, and the true meaning of collectivism. In the members’ hour, we begin with a discussion on the true nature of the Left. Brett points out that the Left attacks those who disagree with it, whereas the Right only attacks in self-defense. We discuss the importance of realism, which Brett contrasts with perspectives rooted in concerns for what is considered socially acceptable at a particular point in time. We then switch gears to talk about the Alt-Right. Brett compares the Alt-Right to the mythic hero’s journey, and differentiates between people who are good at a specific set of modern skills and those who are able to obtain a more transcendent understanding of the universe. Later, we discuss transhumanism, which Brett argues is the contemporary Left’s answer to eugenics. 8. Brett is obviously, 'evidently', completely wrong when he says, among other things, that the only societies that make, that can make, progress are 'ethnically homogenous'. Clearly that is not the case. Take his own country, the United States: it has been a tremendously progressive inventive country precisely because of the variety and resulting mixture of people from very different backgrounds who have collectively and in combinations with one another produced advances that have been huge and prodigious in scope !!
   It's blatantly obvious incorrect statements that makes one - at least me - wonder about a lot of the rest of the stuff that Brett is spouting here !!
9. I like the guy's opinions but these ideas that the media and democracy are not working by "accident" is not going to fly. The media and democracy are actually working as intended, it is the intention or purpose behind them that are the exact opposite what people are lead to believe: inform -> misinform, empower the people -> deprive the people of power.

I think they think if they say it with enough confidence, then people will accept it as having some degree of validity. This stuff is no better than the crap forwarded in the 'self help' section in a bookshop. They like to think their work is only ever published by small time publishers because they're edgy and the major publishing houses are (rightly) scared they'll be criticised for publishing hate mongering weirdos. Or, it's some kind of Jewish/left wing conspiracy that stops them from getting a mainstream publisher. I think the rest of the planet should get together and agree to put people like this on their own (preferably cold and inhospitable) island somewhere, where they can get on with their own hate filled lives, safely a long, long way away from 'normal' people. Most of the people I've encountered IRL that hold these views have all the social skills of a sewer rat.

Those advocating some kind of dispassionate, 'rational' way of thought and a belief in a 'reality', that they can access on an everyday basis, that's both stable and permanent goes against everything we know about the brain (and therefore the mind, without getting into that particularly thorny subject) and how it functions. It's just these fascists attempt at rationalising and excusing selfishness, superiority and hatred. They're just putting a pig in a fancy dress and make-up, thinking they can pass it off as a very ugly human and hoping people won't notice.

    This is a difficult discussion to follow because the philosophical and psychological subjects discussed are too condensed and concentrated.
    Older people are often caught with one leg firmly anchored in the past (by way of classical or catholic education) and one leg continually slipping into the ever-changing future of psycho-cybernetic-science.
    Adding advancing age to the equation of diminishing returns I would liken this discussion to the old plug in cable switch boards used by telephone operators in the past (philosophical connectivity) with the electronic switching boards of automated robotic answering machines (psychological speed) that redirects to a limited number of evolving relevant Q & A's.
    More often than not it is difficult to know to whom or what you are talking to with all the cybernetic changes that have occurred with advancing technologies in the last one hundred years.

17. Henrik, pardon me for going full woo-woo on you, but...pick up ANY King James version of the Bible, turn to Isaiah 11:6 and you'll find that it now says "the WOLF shall dwell with the lamb." Oddly, this is true even in older Bibles, for example the family heirloom one in this household, which was given by one family member to her daughter in 1946.
