Britain's Illegal Rave Renaissance: LOCKED OFF

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Rave Culture is one of Britain’s great cultural exports, but after its first wave in the late eighties and early nineties, it was soon forced into the underground by stringent new laws and superclubs. But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged. Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning. But with the police using increasingly extreme tactics to clamp down on these parties, and more than one fatality causing nationwide media panic, can the scene survive? 5. damn dude cops here in the US would just be kicking people in the face and probably shooting a few. no wonder this kind of stuff can occur there
  6. cor gabba is really shit isn't it
  7. dnb and dubstep is one big family
  8. THAT FO'KIN GABBA M8
  9. great story arc
  10. Kinda feel sorry for those Welsh people and I can see why they've had to resort to holding illegal raves. We are lucky in England as most towns have at least one licensed rave venue that would definitely accommodate a hardstyle or gabber rave.

My town only has a population of 30,000 yet we frequently get hard house, dnb and hard style raves held in the 2 exclusive rave venues that exist here.

We have night clubs here too but in recent times the rave venues have started to become really popular as younger people are starting to rebel against the ageing commercial club scene that has been watered down into pop music. I reckon clubbing will be dead in a few years as the people that want that sort of shitty vibe tend to just stay in the chain pubs like Yates.
  11. i wanna go to one of these ~
  12. Don't get me wrong tho DnB is the shittttttt
  13. its basically just a house party in an industrial estate tho isn't it? You see the same drugs, police, loud music, rapey lads, slaggy girls at your standard house party....
  14. Ksidef
  15. "Industrial darklands?" FFS it's residential development central.
  16. Is anybody else amazed at the quality of this? The editing, the shooting, the music. This channel's come a long way.
  17. I wish America had a scene like this BUT , No House or techno? Can someone please explain?
  18. I seriously find it redicoulous how they try to shut down clubs and put age restrictions and stuff tlike keep people safe. People need to party and if they don't have a safe place to do it their just gonna get into more trouble. I think part of it is that there is too much liability on club owners
  19. Why don't they just go to a club
  20. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO ANY raids!!!!!!
