Charlotte Marriott City Center is the Hotel of the Future | Future Stay

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Working with creators, innovators, guest feedback and the MIT Global Experience Lab, Marriott Hotels has created a hotel of the future in Charlotte. Built as a testing ground for new ideas, everything from the hotel lobby to the guestroom and beyond has been re-imagined. Tech and innovation reviewer Brian Tong takes us on a tour of Charlotte Marriott City Center. 1. I didn't see a work desk or chair in the room. I need to use a mouse (a real one, not trackpad/touchscreen) for work and the lack of a proper, back-supporting office chair and desk is a deal-breaker. Ever try doing serious Excel work with a trackpad? Even the Milennials (for whom this "re-imagining" seems to be targeted) who apparently are all artists/writers/unemployed trust-fund beneficiaries at least need to use a real mouse once in a while for their "gaming" (i.e. one of the myriad FPS/RTS click/twitchfest clones).
  2. open floor plan and a lounge. blah.
