Couple Builds Tiny House for Only $420!

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Meet Liam and Rachel, who built this cute 6.25-metre tiny house for just $420. Using almost entirely recycled materials, including bits and pieces scavenged from building sites and dumpsters, the couple built their first home with no previous building experience. The teeny little house has a small living area downstairs and above it a loft with a double bed. As they’re living in community Liam and Rachel didn’t need to include a kitchen and bathroom, as they have shared facilities and a communal living space nearby. This is their perfect retreat, surrounded by vegetable plots and looking out onto beautiful native bush. 1. I love this! when I get my money I'm buying land and doing this. it's been my dream for awhile. wish i could do it now. I'm saving to build a tiny house or r.v can I come stay on this land??
  2. Did Lou Hawk ever contact anyone.
  3. Scavenging building materials is one thing, but scavenging food in dumpsters? Euw...that's just too alternative for me. Nice little house though.
  4. a tarp is not sufficient to put on the roof like that.
  5. I'm sorry but that hair man.... what's the point?
  6. where could I get connected with other communities like this?
  7. It seems that you learned a lot with this project and reused wasted material in the process. Success!
  8. go babys go
  9. Why didn't you angle the roof the opposite way? To match the slope of the land.
  10. Dick Proanoke documentary, the OG of house building. that man built a log cabin by scratch. people like the ones in this video are ahead of the game. I salute you!!
  11. i want to do this :( sigh some day i will i think
  12. WELL DONE. BRILLIANT
  13. Hobbits do exist
  14. I admire your passion and eco-commitment, man, but your house looks like SHIT. Just because it was assembled from junk doesn't mean it has to LOOK like junk.
  15. 420
  16. Tiny houses make so much sense in a well destroyed world. Cutting down forests and trees endlessly and replace them with concrete ugly hideous jungles inhabited by greedy twisted materialistic and Lusty human population. A home is a love nest where the members can cuddle up with each other. 2 people or 10 doesn't matter. But a human being builds houses and not homes. Houses are full of things non living things. Homes are full of loving people the flora and fauna dogs horses cows goats and the smell of fresh bread and pancakes and butter and pastries. A tiny house shows us the way to simple living and high thinking.
It is the big ego of a small mind that leads to greed and lust for things things and more things. The planet is being nicely destroyed by the human beings. What will happen when we run out of resources? I think the concept of a tiny house is not only comfort with modesty but also the evolved human mind will guide you to live a harmonious life. Utilising the natural resources judiciously.
  17. i would like our community to welcome tis type of housing in our city/county but idk if they do.. i dont think they do i would like to try this..
  18. How did you use the body that was in my tarp?
    Garden?
  19. This is not your real hair man. You are a fucking shill.
  20. LOL...your families must be real proud of you; not.
