Go to http://www.codecuba.com to see more Cuba Videos. This high definition Havana travel video, featuring Habana Vieja, was shot in Cuba in 2010. The video focuses on the four main plazas and connecting streets. The first plaza we visit is the historic Plaza De Armas, the oldest square in Havana. From there we check out the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, a 16th century fort that houses a museum which highlights Havana's historic development. We then move to the rooftop of the Hotel Santa Isabel, a location that offers excellent views of the Plaza De Armas. The booksellers market in the square below is highlighted as a place to find old collectable books. A block west is the Plaza de la Catedral named for the iconic Catedral de San Cristobal. Highlights include both exterior and interior shots of this beautiful church. The square itself offers numerous photo opportunities including postcard shots of baroque architecture and of Cuban women in colonial costumes. A restaurant with entertainment is also featured. Heading south six blocks we come to the beautifully restored Plaza Vieja. Surrounded by historic buildings from four different centuries, this plaza is a popular spot. With numerous bars and restaurants it makes a wonderful dining spot, particularly in the evening with it's lighted fountain and historic backdrop. Bordering the port is the Plaza de San Francisco, which underwent a full restoration in the 1990's. Highlights include shots of the Basilica, which was first built in the late 1500's and was partially rebuilt later in the 1700's. Havana Vieja is home to Calle Obisbo one of the busiest shopping streets in Havana. This pedestrian only walkway is filled with art galleries, bars, restaurants, and curio shops. The video closes with shots of a fabulous art deco building called the Edificio Bacardi that is located of the end of Calle Obisbo. If you're ever in Havana, it's worth checking it out in person. And be sure to check out our Havana Centro video as well as other Cuba videos that are coming out each week on codecuba.

  2. ART GALLERIES? I WANT TO SEE THOSE ART GALLERIES, BEAUTUFUL ART DECO DESTROYED BUILDINGS! SHAME.......
  3. IT'S A SHAME THAT THE CASTRO BROTHERS LET THE COUNTRY CRUMBLE, NOT A SINGLE PENNIE TO MAINTAIN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, THEY WILL NEVER PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO CUBA AND THE CUBANS.
  4. Home of the Madrid (Havana low tide and high tide) Break in MLBaseball.
  5. Cuba paraiso pederasta.
  6. Castros ladrões assacinos e terroristas.
  7. Fidel assacino.
  8. La Haban Vieja es impresionante, y hermosa. Que belleza.
  9. I think we all know what you mean. He made a great video but his vocal presentation is completely emotionless about such a beautiful people and their beautiful country, Cuba!
  11. The majority of the beautiful Architecture pre-dates Fidel. Cubas future is what is important now , cubans today are getting restored their CIVIL RIGHTS and soon alsomaybe free to travel within and outside the island if Raul has anything to do with it. Viva Orlando Zapata Tamayo,
  12. CodeCuba, Since you've obviously already been to Cuba, can you tell me if most of the Habana is colonial style architecture? I've seen some modern buildings and it looks to me that there are high rise buildings as well. Is this so...because if it is, it is sad that such a precious city will become modernized
  13. Can someone tell me what is the new Havana Cuba? The Malecón is the new Havana?
