6. I think your video is a summary of modern attitude - demolition with glee and indifference to the past. I don't come from Belfast but the co-operative WAS a people's movement and this video shows evidentially what has happened. More than just the demolition of an architecturally pleasing building. And it's happening across Britain. The brutality of the postwar years has not died.
7. And a beautiful Art Deco building is demolished to make way for another ugly, and totally indiscreet, glass boxy.

11. Total madness! It is vandalism to the maximum. I can just imagine how ugly and plain the replace for this work of art will be be. They didn't even think to stop and save the 1932 marker atop the center of building. I even wonder about the beautiful window(s) and staircase railings we saw earlier. Did those get trashed too?

13. When you consider the craft skills that went into creating this beautiful building. The quality of materials and the craftsmen's pride in their work, it beggars belief that a council would permit the destruction of such a monument to the history of Belfast. And for what purpose? No doubt making a large amount of money for someone is at the back of it. A sad, sad video, and whoever gave the go ahead to destroy this building should hang their heads in shame.

18. It's really hard to watch...I had to look away when I saw the beautiful elegant interior of the ballroom exposed....What a shame.
19. 😠😞😔 why'd they do this to such an amazing building and more importantly a historic monument that has provided happiness over the years. And now I bet they're gonna build some crappy McDonald's or something else boring and typical. Why destroy such an amazing place?
