Alex Weiner For a hobby, Alex Weiner decided to produce an application in APL that would demonstrate to his friends how cool APL is. His starting point was that many things can be modelled as a matrix, for example, computer architecture, images and electrical circuits, which makes APL the ideal language for working with them. He decided images (more specifically, image manipulation) were the way to go. Alex takes us through the process of creating "Flake", his application that combines two images based on a specified tile size. Did it get the desired reaction from his friends?
