Eco-Village Sustainable Communities (summary of 'A New We')

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Now more than ever before people all over the planet are seeking new sustainable models for living. EcoVillages and ecological communities have been emerging as a viable alternative where people can live together in cooperation and harmony with the natural world. 'A New We' explores 10 such communities in Europe and opens doors to further exploration and discovery on the new 'Global EcoVillage & Sustainable Community Network'! Please join the conversation and participate in the 'A New We' initiative which aims towards evolving the EcoVillage model into the 21st century! The Austrian documentary filmmaker Stefan Wolf traveled through Europe in order to explore and document well established eco-communities that portray some of the broad spectrum of lifestyle possibilities that are part of our global effort to transition to a sustainable world. Experience ecovillages and ecological communities in Europe in this two-hour long documentary portrait. The variety of situations and voices in 'A New We' inspires hope for the future of humanity and all life on the planet. The lives shown here are more motivated by imagination, vision, respect, and cooperation than by economic forces and social expectations. In these 10 communities, the creative solutions to many social, environmental and economic challenges exemplify the nearly infinite capacity for human-, community- and self-development. It’s a film that enlightens, encourages and spreads hope – for a new world and A New We. 2. AMEN NEED HARD WORKING BROKE$ FAMILY BEEN ASTONEMASON 30YRS NOW ORGANIC FARMER IN PENN ,LOVE JESUS
  3. Governments have brought war, despair, greed, and in many cases total destruction of their own society. Which everyone sees happening now. Socialism doesn't work on a governmental basis it only works on a village basis where everyone is equal.
  4. High quality of life requires big upfront and long term funding. Good old capitalism!
  5. Like the hippie-mother earth of the sixties movement something is flawed here. I'm not a pessimist, but it sounds too ideological. This may be a good alternative to homelessness, or unemployment, but people need space to grow and mature, and yes- sustain themselves.
  6. Sustainability is at the heart of UN Agenda 21, which is the central banker-financed plan for world communism (aka, communitarianism). I recommend you educate yourself in this. The Soviet model was also based on sustainability.
  7. Since I am libertarian, I would love to see a libertarian style Eco-village would be like?
  8. I hope you are doing well. My team and I have invented/created one of the most efficient food and energy production systems in the world. We are launching our Kickstarter campaign tomorrow at 1 CST. At 1:05 would you take 3 minutes to send in between $1 and $10,000 because for every dollar we get through our network, it means many more dollars through the "Viral" network? Link and video below. I am messaging everyone on my list because I believe this can greatly benefit the world (-:

  9. seems pretty private with everyone having their own houses still....
  10. This is endearing, in the purest sense of the word.
However a question occurred to me that was not address in this video. How do these villages reconcile that exclusionary nature of such communities in relationship to the expanding desire for a inclusionary progression toward holistic living?
What I mean is that these models are based, fundamentally, on the return to nature lifestyle that we had in the past. Which I get, but it is insoluble with the desires of most (90%) of the current human population. Is there no way to format a holistic return that would be able to bring together All humanity around a unified aim?
  11. Just like Israeli Kibbutz and Moshave's ! Awesome choices for life !
  12. intersting
  13. Hey, i want to be part of one. I can contribute with lots of things.
  14. Is there a strong religious presence? hope not
  15. This is interesting, but too communal for most people these days. people want their privacy. Not everyone who supports sustainable living modalities is looking to go back to the land, so to speak. I think it's great for some people, but not everyone.
  16. Where are you located?
