Demolition began at about 8:00 a.m. on May 22, 2012, with the deconstruction of the main structures completed by about 9:30 a.m. Video by Larry Holder. Despite outward appearances, the building had significant structural issues, and the congregation chose to replace it with a larger and more useful set of buildings, constructed in 2 phases. Phase 2 was approved to commence sometime in mid to latter 2015. The new worship center, which was completed in Phase 1, seats over 1,000. The old church could only hold about 600 when totally full.
