This year, Australia at the Venice Art Biennale is represented by Fiona Hall. Entitled Wrong Way Time, her exhibition is an immersive installation that deals with global political, financial, and environmental issues and events. It's also the inaugural exhibition of the new Australian Pavilion, the first twenty-first century pavilion built in the historic Giardini. Fiona Hall AO is one of Australia's leading contemporary artists and came to prominence as a photographer in the 1970s. She lives and works in Adelaide, South Australia. During the 1980s she extended her creative practice to embrace a diverse range of art forms including sculpture, installation, garden design, and film. Transforming everyday materials and objects, Fiona Hall creates artworks that often address the relationship between nature and culture.
