Florida Southern College Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings Part1122515

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

This is the first part of a three part series concerning Frank Lloyd Wright's largest collection of buildings in a single location. Mr. Wright was hired by the college to design buildings on its Lakeland Florida campus. It is a rare treat to examine his style and engineering. 1. This is not an example of his Praire style. He left that behind prior to the '20s. This was a late, modern style that he developed towards the end of his life.
  2. Hi Jack, To say Frank Lloyd Wright was a genius was an understatement amazing man! Awesome video! Thanks Jack!
  3. Thanks for the tour... Another great reason for visiting central Florida! There is so much to do and see outside of the normal tourist attractions like Disney World. The style of Frank Lloyd Right is really one of a kind. Dale was just telling me that his dad was a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright.. and was an inspiration for Joe to be an architect, but there was no program at the University of Utah at that time.. So he studied engineering instead. Shortly after graduating the "U".. an architectural program was made available at the "U". Very cool Jack! Now we are watching the rest of your series!! Thanks!! :D
  4. Hey Jack. Beautiful looking buildings. FLW designed some beautiful buildings over the years. I've never seen one myself. :)
  5. Absolutely love his work!!  Those cast blocks remind me of Ennis house in Los Angeles.  Thanks Jack!!!  Happy holidays!!
