Future of Construction Process: 3D Concrete Printing

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Concrete Printing Process developed at Loughborough University in the UK is capable of producing building components with a degree of customisation that has not yet been seen. It could create a new era of architecture that is adapted to the environment and fully integrated with engineering function. Web: http://www.buildfreeform.com/

  2. Excuse me, but ... ??? where are the doors, windows, tubes for all the services ????
  3. polymer cement by 3D printing is thousands year old ALL one have to look at GIZA pyramids and Sumerian tablets
  4. I like Frank Lloyd Wright. The Johnson Wax building. Can you make a Lilly pad? To hold up the ceiling. Long hollow tube, flair at the top, reinforced with steel mesh.
  5. I really enjoyed your channel Mrnes :) good
  6. what material is used in construction. tension is how taken care. what is mode of repair. is it earth quake resistant. what is cost comparasion
    pl clarify
  7. is that a reprap printer?
  8. Chinese printing 3D concrete houses already
  9. Other 3D printing techniques use flanges either side of the dispensing nozzle to give better results. Also, I think the general public needs more hand-holding with the benefits of this technology.
  10. At time of publish, there was already 3 companies or more doing what they are just now researching.
  11. 1:52 : "more unique"? Really….
  12. What is the CAD software used shown in the video? Judging by visual complexity it's not as overloaded as AutoCAD.
  13. Why not use giant moulds and bubble cement to fill those moulds. The bubble cement could be created by mixing cement with poliurethane granules. Then simply assemble the houses like legos.  3d printers could be used to print the platforms or grids to assemble them on. Moulds would allow accurate shapes, while printers would do more simplistic and massive walling. or there could be various 3d printers working on the same pathway simultaneously- one would be printing cement wall, while another one printing or laying stregthening fabric  or rebar in the structure at the same time. Basically 3d printers would provide skeleton and moulds would be inserted to join the skeleton together.
  14. name of the music, please???
  15. dont forget to download formwork printing add on. make sure use norton to scan for worms and addware
  16. yes!! concrete is very cheap of course.
  17. cheap affordable homes
  18. haven't the Chinese been using 3D printers to print buildings using concrete for years already?
  19. but what about rebar?
  20. Absolutely amazing!
