PREVIEW: I'm a great admirer of the Late Byzantine structures of the Eastern Roman Empire (circa 6th century AD), the architecture and archaeological typology has a timeless futuristic quality with all the organic domes/curves and geometric motifs, whilst retaining a rustic ancient feel (stone masonry, vaulted entablature, gilded metals etc). I recall the Prometheus & last Alien franchise film all wished to use the aesthetic dichotomy between rustic ancient realism/futuristic innovative technology. I designed here an original Neo-Byzantine futuristic megastructure, with this marriage between ancient familiar/modern fantastical, on a hypothetical Alien planet inhabited by humans/hominins of the distant future. The interplay between Ancient Byzantine typology/ futuristic machine-age elements is an as of yet undiscovered treasure in Sci-fi & Xenoarchaeology i feel.
