Futuristic Truck Schramm, hydrogen Milano EXPO 2015

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

With their aeronautical curves, the trucks designed by Professor Luigi Colani nearly resemble a spaceship. The Berlin native has been working on the development of these futuristic tractor trailers since the 1950s. Inspired by nature, Colani designs the truck bodies in streamline form in order to achieve especially low air resistance values (Cw values) and in turn greatly lower fuel consumption, lending his trucks unique ecological and economical efficiency. For his current model, Glasurit*'s VOC-compliant 68 Line HS 2K CV Topcoat is making a first-class contribution to this efficiency. That's because the high-quality paint produced by BASF Coatings AG meets the tough requirements the star designer poses for his work materials and the production of his trucks. Friedrich Schramm, the owner of the Schramm vehicle production company, agrees with this 100 percent. He knows his way around the production of the designer trucks. Five years ago Schramm, who works out of the Cologne district of Fuhlingen, received his first job order from Professor Colani. Schramm's company now owns the exclusive marketing rights for Colani's best-known semi, the CF 95 DAF model. Every Colani truck is unique and is specially produced according to its particular use. The extraordinary trucks are rarely used as commercial vehicles per se. Instead, the unique tractor trailers are used for marketing purposes. Colani's trucks transport image and support brands. Their eye catching exterior sets them apart from regular truck models. And the perfect paint job with Glasurit is the finishing touch for the futuristic forms. "The paint has to be high quality and durable," says Schramm, explaining why he decided to go with Glasurit. And when it comes to the materials for the truck body, Colani also has high standards for quality. State of the art glass-fiber reinforced plastics are used for the paneling. Blue tinted side windows make up the roof and windshield of the cab. The capsule form, as well as other sleek characteristics, conjure up aeronautical associations. As in aeronautical technology, the window panes are completely made of acrylic.

  1. I'd hate to have to change the tires on the trailer
  2. <3
  3. yes,but...will it blend?
  4. vuoi metterlo con uno Scania?
  5. Si ma poi è confortevole all'interno? Come scende l'autista dopo una giornata passata la dentro? Forse tutto ranicchiato!
  6. It's still got lots of horrible aerodynamic flaws. Why the huge side mirrors instead of cameras? Why the poor rear end aero? Could the cockpit be any uglier? I appreciate where he's going, but it needs some follow-through. Also, the lack of any meaningful-sized sleeper is a deal breaker for long haul drivers.
  7. bella merda
  8. na merdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  9. the silver cock mobile
  10. looks like my grandma's hairstyle
  11. wats the point?
  12. That's what designing for efficiency looks like.
  13. it takes a creative mind to come up with something like that
  14. oww woowwwwwww
  15. Looks like a metal penis sculpture on a platform with wheels. Why do companies feel like using futuristic body work design when using new types of propolsion? Why not use current design that works and just replace the combustion fuel motors with the new one. Is that so fucking hard? This is one ugly looking piece of crap IMHO.
  16. @kmarinas86 True! the truck wouldnt be that aerodynamic if they have to lug a giant rectangle around. unless they make a new one....
  17. @vmorgun not at all!! as colani is one of the (it not THE) world's best professor of aerodynamics it's ALL about the truck's shape. he reduces consumption "without touching the engine" by 40% or - in his newest truck - by 50% only by building it absolutely streamlined. (by the way: he is the guy who invented the small "tips" at the end of an aeroplane's wing (the upward looking thingy) which reduces shaking on the wing making the aeroplane more stable... every new plane uses his technology...)
  18. u must feel a nob driving it!
  19. What about shipping containers?
  20. @theartonthewall you dont know wat ur missing bet ur thinking of the 2012 doom day better not get a heart attack as u get old in 58 years from now to me the future is gunna be bomb and very cool future is now!! this video looks cool
