How to Achieve the Classic Club Style with Our Manhattan Leather Armchair | Pottery Barn

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Owning the Pottery Barn Manhattan Leather Armchair is nothing short of making an iconic style statement. Former Vice President of Product Development at Pottery Barn, Hilary Billings, tells us the how they came about designing this Pottery Barn classic club chair. The original leather club chairs were first made in 1920's in Paris and were installed in Parisian men's clubs. The Pottery Barn product development team found these unique leather armchairs while looking for product ideas at a Parisian flea market. Being inspired by club chairs, Pottery Barn decided to look for a generously portioned leather armchair focusing on those built in the 1930s and their search led them to Manhattan, where they found the perfect chair. Beautiful design details from the original chair were kept such as line of piping around the chair and sturdy wooden legs. First unveiled in the mid 90's, the Pottery Barn Manhattan Leather Armchair became an instant hit with customers. Without a doubt, Pottery Barn's Manhattan Leather Armchair has a timeless design that makes it fit in any room of your home and always be in style. 1. Great place to learn how to make it yourself much much cheaper. Just google for 'woodprix' website:)
  2. This is the most beautiful chair. I thought I had found the perfect chair until I went into the store and tried it. The regular chair was very comfortable... then I tired the recliner and it was awefull. Nothing like the regular chair at all - the cushions were not a cushy and the there was no neck or back support - even in the upright position. Any, when you reline, it's worse. I am so disappointed but wanted to make sure no one actually orders a recliner without trying it first. Please, please, please, could someone create a recliner that is as good looking as it is comfortable.
  3. Great chair. Classic.
  4. Chair, Chair, Chair...she said Chair 22 times!
