Buzz, VW Kombi comes in to 21st century Hippy Wagon is back, and is all electric too!!! VW Microbus is back and it is all electric. If you have nostalgia for the 60s, inescapable icon of the 60s was small VW Kombi which almost everyone drove around back then. Hippy Wagon was another name given to this iconic van. I.D. Buzz is the name of new electric VW Kombi, and it’ll come with some exciting new features that all you hippies out there be more than happy of what’s on offer + you’re helping our Gaia. The new VW Microbus is an 8-seat all-electric vehicle with a driving range up to 270 miles or 435 kilometres. High-powered DC fast charging can power up the 111-kWh lithium ion battery pack up to 80% in just about 30 minutes, front and rear electric motors producing 369 horsepower. The I.D. Buzz collects traffic data using its cameras, laser, ultrasonic, and radar sensors to semi-autonomous to full autonomous ride. It’s highly customizable and stores personal seat and air conditioning settings, sounds system configuration, ambient lighting, and more. If all goes well, production on I.D. Buzz should start early in 2020, vehicle can be customized and battery size increased to 192KWh, adding rear wheel drive as well, brings total horsepower to 637hp, more than sufficient for small van, mini bus. I.D. Buzz could seat up to 8 people, or largish family, theoretically with new battery range wold also increase to 700km, which could allow for long holiday trips. Volkswagen hopes to have new all electric car/vehicle line up by 2020, and have upwards of 30 various electric car and vehicle models in full production by 2025. VW is the world’s largest car maker with nearly 10 million units sold in 2016, it plans to stop production of petrol engine cars by 2022/3, a trend seen by large European automakers who also plan to transfer their car productions to all electric car production by mid 2020s. By 2030 many EU countries plan to ban petrol cars from their roads, including Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Austria. When Elon Musk started his electric car revolution, I bet many didn’t expect the real electric car revolution would have been started.

  1. why do they have to make ugly cars? EV doesn't mean LEDs everywhere...
  2. Wow that is amazing! They've turned an icon automobile into a generic people carrier! good job...
