Los Angeles as a city has made the decision to manage growth and preserve much of what makes LA LA. You'll notice there are a few but not an explosion of 20- or 40-story high rises and condos as there are in so many other cities. In fact, some of LA looks like it did in the '60s. This management keeps a city livable and affordable. So, kudos and thank you to LA for keeping your city beautiful.
