Both Macron and Mélanchon are great authentic candidates: but they both lack similarly opposite things: Macron is too internationalistic with the EU whilst Mélanchon is too nationalistic with the EU - although, not as far as Marine. Macron would be the ideal candidate, but he needs to call out the EU for its faults, without reverting to jingoism and blaming the EU for faults it has not caused.
