First ever solo road trip -- Hellooo, Tulsa, Oklahoma! ps. pop this description box open for your postcard! 👌 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🚙 Hi friend! This was my first ever solo road trip and it was so exciting and yet a little scary! The drive up from Dallas was about 4.5 hours, and I'd never driven more than 1 hour alone and 3.5 hours with a friend (even if I was driving the whole 3.5 hours). I definitely started to get sleepy around the 4th hour… But I'm alive and it was totally worth it! Every time I push myself to overcome something small (like driving alone for 4+ hours) I get a huge confidence boost. (: When was the last time you did something that scared you? Tulsa is pretty small but they have a lot of cute spots, especially downtown! It reminds me of Austin, Texas a little. I miss Austin a lot. In fact, I'm actually hoping to visit Austin again soon since I lived there the summer of 2015! In any case, let me know what you've been up to… we need to catch up some time! Wish you were here, x Nomi - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DESTINATIONS 0:37 - Double Shot Coffee Company - http://bit.ly/2miQTer - - - - - Loved loved loved the atmosphere for this place. It has a very modern warehouse feel. There's an adjacent room to the main café that holds all their coffee bean bags and it's so interesting to walk into. There is a raw-ness to it, which I like. 1:20 - Long Wolf Banh Mi - http://bit.ly/2neupe5 - - - - - I admit a part of what drew me to this place was the name haha. I'm also a sucker for Asian Fusion type foods so it was a natural choice for lunch. (: 1:32 - Route 66 - http://www.historic66.com/ - - - - - For those of you not familiar with American history, Route 66 is a famous road that connected Chicago to Los Angeles and spanned across 8 states. Melissa and I stood at the end of Route 66 in our Santa Monica/L.A. vlog (http://bit.ly/29jfqvI )! I actually didn't realize that Tulsa was on the Route so when I was driving to Lone Wolf and I saw the signs, I was pleasantly surprised! 1:34 - 36 Degrees North - http://www.36degreesnorth.co/ - - - - - Such an absolutely gorgeous co-working space-- honestly, probably my favorite of the ones I've visited so far! 1:47 - Woody Guthrie Center - http://woodyguthriecenter.org/ 1:49 - Random Graffiti and Murals - - - - - I love my street art so you'll always find me on the lookout for graffiti in any city I visit! 1:55 - Colors of Etnika - https://www.shopetnika.com/ - - - - - I got to meet with and talk to the lovely shop owner Karla and she honestly has a heart of gold. I loved the stories she shared with me as well as her advice on life. ♥ Often times, a place holds a special meaning to me due to the people I meet there and Karla definitely made Tulsa special. 1:58 - Tulsa Art Deco Museum - http://tulsaartdecomuseum.com/ - - - - - It was really interesting learning about the importance of art deco in Tulsa's history. I had no idea that Tulsa was dubbed "Oil Capital of the World" during the 20th century and the success of the city led to the incorporation of art deco in the city's architecture as a reflection of their opulence of their time. 2:05 - Philtower Building - http://www.philtower.com/about/history/ 2:10 - Antoinette Baking Company - http://antoinettebakingco.com/ 2:13 - Chimera Café - chimeratulsa.com/ - - - - - I was actually recommended this place for dinner by the girl I met at the Tulsa Art Deco Museum! Really cool vegan and vegetarian eats café with a really chill vibe. The Lilly's Special Salad was super bomb! It was so filling, I actually kept it for lunch the next day as well! 2:29 - Tulsa First Friday Art Crawl - http://bit.ly/2mYipkK - - - - - I really did luck out this time, being able to visit so many museums for free!! Usually, stuff like this never happens for me! 2:40 - Henry Zarrow Center for Art and Education - https://gilcrease.org/zarrow/ 2:46 - Philbrooke Musem of Art - https://philbrook.org/ 2:53 - 108 Contemporary Museum - 108contemporary.org/ 2:56 - Woody Guthrie Center (again) - http://woodyguthriecenter.org/ - - - - - Again! 2. This looks amazing!! and those cakes!!!!
  3. Your airbnb looks amazing! All those little plants really add to the environment. I'm a super cheap traveller too so definitely gonna bring canned soups on my next trip. Thanks for the tip haha! Hope you're doing so so well <3
  4. Traveling solo is the best way to travel, give you a lot of time for yourself to process things... Also, missed your videos!
  5. Hi! Welcome back! You have been gone for so long and it made me realize how much I missed your videos! Your editing is amazing! I loved your airbnb, and your video made me want to visit Tulsa. I just did an Austin vlog, if you missed it, check it out! Glad you are back.. are you back, or were you just inspired by your solo travel?
  6. Oh my gosh! I just saw a comment of yours that you made 6 months ago on a video of mine. It was in the list of spam comments so I never knew you made the comment. It was so sweet! I just want to say that you for it and I'm sorry I never replied. For the past hour, I've been watching like all of your videos and I love them. This one was really good too! Definitely subscribing!
  7. Hahah OMG YES TO CHEAP TRAVELERS! HI FIVE. And how was airbnb-ing alone? I've always done hostels because im a bit of a loser when it comes to living alone alone in a new space haha! I've done the whole living alone thing but never as just a tourist - a very strange fear of mine oops!
  8. I love your editing. What software do you use? Are you a film major?
  9. Was it scary travelling on your own? I always tell myself that I am gonna do a road trip/day trip now that I'm studying in London and have that opportunity. But I keep finding excuses. XP Plus getting lost in a foreign city all on your own sounds daunting.
  10. yayy i loved the vid nomi!! so proud of you taking your first solo road trip 😘
  11. That airbnb looks like a dream!!
  12. Loved your comment on my kalaghoda art vlog. Feels so awesome to know what exactly was loved. (:
    In your way (:
0:03 Love the idea of talking without talking.
0:44 Love that bit of entering.
0:56 Honey, the password's out! But love that note. So, thoughtful.
Love how you introduce the place.
1:42 Those graphics. So you. So lovely. I love the quirky you.
1:49 How did you manage to do it solo? Looks awesome, though.
But if I fit my camera somewhere it will be gone. ):
2:19 I'm dying. I don't even know if I can eat it. But this is gorgeous.
    2:56 more than two chords. Wow. That font, though. That color. (Ok, I always see what...(;
Love the idea of that postcard.

Now for what could be better:
I thought the font was too low to read. Not the subtitles. They were perfect. But the ones where you're trying to talk to us. Would be awesome if it were a little bigger. Maybe it's just me. lol.

Dunno why your super effort driven time checks are not clickable in the description. You should post that in your comment section instead or maybe do both. You know?

P.S. I wish I was there too. Don't you dare forget to tell me when you're in India. I'm a cheap traveller too. So cheap that I don't even travel. lol. I'd love to, though. My mom would allow me if there are girls. (:
  13. amazing editing and filming as usual Nomi- your shots are so steady! 😍 and the little graphics popping out of the laptop at 1:42 were so cute 😄😄 Tulsa looks like such an artsy and chill place, thanks for sharing 💕
  14. So excited when the notification pop up with your name on it!! Another awesome vlog!!! How do you manage to capture so much great scene and edit them together? I cant even talk straight to the camera lol please come back and edit more!
  15. Another great video ☺️ love the little inserts you put here and there! :) ps. I'm a cheap traveler too haha
