First ever solo road trip -- Hellooo, Tulsa, Oklahoma! ps. pop this description box open for your postcard! 👌 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🚙 Hi friend! This was my first ever solo road trip and it was so exciting and yet a little scary! The drive up from Dallas was about 4.5 hours, and I'd never driven more than 1 hour alone and 3.5 hours with a friend (even if I was driving the whole 3.5 hours). I definitely started to get sleepy around the 4th hour… But I'm alive and it was totally worth it! Every time I push myself to overcome something small (like driving alone for 4+ hours) I get a huge confidence boost. (: When was the last time you did something that scared you? Tulsa is pretty small but they have a lot of cute spots, especially downtown! It reminds me of Austin, Texas a little. I miss Austin a lot. In fact, I'm actually hoping to visit Austin again soon since I lived there the summer of 2015! In any case, let me know what you've been up to… we need to catch up some time! Wish you were here, x Nomi - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DESTINATIONS 0:37 - Double Shot Coffee Company - http://bit.ly/2miQTer - - - - - Loved loved loved the atmosphere for this place. It has a very modern warehouse feel. There's an adjacent room to the main café that holds all their coffee bean bags and it's so interesting to walk into. There is a raw-ness to it, which I like. 1:20 - Long Wolf Banh Mi - http://bit.ly/2neupe5 - - - - - I admit a part of what drew me to this place was the name haha. I'm also a sucker for Asian Fusion type foods so it was a natural choice for lunch. (: 1:32 - Route 66 - http://www.historic66.com/ - - - - - For those of you not familiar with American history, Route 66 is a famous road that connected Chicago to Los Angeles and spanned across 8 states. Melissa and I stood at the end of Route 66 in our Santa Monica/L.A. vlog (http://bit.ly/29jfqvI )! I actually didn't realize that Tulsa was on the Route so when I was driving to Lone Wolf and I saw the signs, I was pleasantly surprised! 1:34 - 36 Degrees North - http://www.36degreesnorth.co/ - - - - - Such an absolutely gorgeous co-working space-- honestly, probably my favorite of the ones I've visited so far! 1:47 - Woody Guthrie Center - http://woodyguthriecenter.org/ 1:49 - Random Graffiti and Murals - - - - - I love my street art so you'll always find me on the lookout for graffiti in any city I visit! 1:55 - Colors of Etnika - https://www.shopetnika.com/ - - - - - I got to meet with and talk to the lovely shop owner Karla and she honestly has a heart of gold. I loved the stories she shared with me as well as her advice on life. ♥ Often times, a place holds a special meaning to me due to the people I meet there and Karla definitely made Tulsa special. 1:58 - Tulsa Art Deco Museum - http://tulsaartdecomuseum.com/ - - - - - It was really interesting learning about the importance of art deco in Tulsa's history. I had no idea that Tulsa was dubbed "Oil Capital of the World" during the 20th century and the success of the city led to the incorporation of art deco in the city's architecture as a reflection of their opulence of their time. 2:05 - Philtower Building - http://www.philtower.com/about/history/ 2:10 - Antoinette Baking Company - http://antoinettebakingco.com/ 2:13 - Chimera Café - chimeratulsa.com/ - - - - - I was actually recommended this place for dinner by the girl I met at the Tulsa Art Deco Museum! Really cool vegan and vegetarian eats café with a really chill vibe. The Lilly's Special Salad was super bomb! It was so filling, I actually kept it for lunch the next day as well! 2:29 - Tulsa First Friday Art Crawl - http://bit.ly/2mYipkK - - - - - I really did luck out this time, being able to visit so many museums for free!!
