Live at the Whiskey Lounge - The Steve Rashid Trio

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

[Jump to 16:11 for the first set] [Jump to 1:45:13 for the second set] I recently played a solo benefit concert for the Evanston Dance Ensemble at the home of our friends (and friends of this series) Regina and Doug. I tried out a concept inspired by the Neo-Futurists which allowed the audience to help design the show as we went. It was really funny -- and so much fun -- that I thought I'd try it this week at the Whiskey Lounge with a trio. Part concert, part game show (with no winners, so no one's a loser!), I promise a musical performance the likes of which you have never seen. Best of all, you won't have to do anything embarrassing. We'll leave that job to the professional musicians. You may know that one of the reasons I created Live at the Whiskey Lounge was so that I'd have a place to perform occasionally, myself. This series has become popular enough that it's actually hard for me to find a slot to book my own trio! This week I'm grabbing a rare opportunity with two great pals, the internationally renowned mandolinist/guitarist, Don Stiernberg, and one of the working-est bass players in Chicago, Stewart Miller. We intend to have a ball, and hope you enjoy the show.
