Cypress Hall is the newest addition to the housing inventory at LSU. Two years in the making, the opening of Cypress Hall in fall 2015 was exciting for students and housing staff alike. The building is striving to be the first LEED-certified residence hall on campus, and features three four-story towers for 330 student beds. The ground floor is an open area with classrooms, offices, numerous study spaces, spacious courtyards, kitchen and laundry facilities, a front desk, and a dance studio for kinesiology courses. Located on the west side of campus by The Enchanted Forest, Cypress Hall offers residents easy access to The 5 dining hall, The Quad, Middleton Library, and the Greek Amphitheater. Cypress Hall is a leader in energy-efficiency with indoor-outdoor learning spaces, storm water recovery systems, interior bike storage rooms, energy-efficient mechanical systems, sustainable finishes, and solar demonstration systems. While brand new and meeting the needs of 21st century college students,Cypress Hall still reflect the architectural style of LSU with a red-tiled roof, ample indoor-outdoor spaces, and 2-student, suite-bath rooms. The College of Human Sciences & Education Residential College (CHSE) is housed in Cypress Hall where CHSE students not only share a building, but also share experiences in hall programs and activities within their community. The Department of Residential Life is committed to the academic success and personal growth of the campus community.
