Making Iconic Houses On May 25 Grand Designs Australia's Peter Maddison joined Karen McCartney, author and curator of Iconic Australian Houses: an exhibition by Karen McCartney for Making Iconic Houses. During an intimate interview Karen discussed her decision-making process and the highs and lows of finding the perfect houses to include in the exhibition. Through the use of an illustrated presentation Karen talked to Peter about the significance of some of the homes featured in the exhibition and also discussed the different house styles that developed across the country from the 1950s to the beginning of the 21st century - dictated by climate, materials and the sheer inventiveness of the architects. Tickets are still available for the next Iconic Australian Houses talk: Living in Iconic Houses and Protecting Iconic Houses talks which will take place at the Museum of Sydney on June 29 and August 17.
