Mid Century Modern House Flip

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Here's the latest house flip from http://www.tomtarrant.com, a 1962 Drogin-built Mid-Century Modern renovation located in San Diego, CA. We maintained respect for the original architecture and design while bringing in modern materials to bring it into the 21st Century. You'll see replica period light fixtures such as the Sputnik chandelier and brushed aluminum hourglass wall sconces. We even replaced the mosaic bathroom tile with a modern glass mosaic in a retro pattern. In the kitchen we used modern flat panel cabinets in high gloss grey and light grey quartz countertops. The bathrooms got new versions of floating vanities and wall mount faucets to match the original design. The original tongue and groove Cedar ceilings were sandblasted and re-stained and we used Milgard aluminum dual paned windows and sliders throughout to give the original feel. A new 50-year roof, renewable bamboo floors and complete landscaping including driveway, modern fence and full view aluminum garage door completed the package for the new homeowner. This incredible Green Button Homes LLC Design/Build only took 11 weeks to complete. See more projects at http://www.tomtarrant.com. We Buy Houses in San Diego.

  15. I love old one
  16. Love the mid-century modern style.  It is so much better now than it was in the mid-century. You might call it "neo-mid-century modern."  Today's mid-century modern takes some cues from the modern style of old, and it may inspire some nostalgia, but it really doesn't seem like anything I remember from my youth.
  17. That shower head. Mmm.
  18. Gorgeous
  19. so nice
