Modern Traditional Architecture

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

I own nothing.enjoy. "All art and design is modern at the time it is made" - Cennino Cennini " Tradition by definition, is the inherited and complex evolution of things cultural, social, conventional, and institutional. The question regarding it is: which traditions live and change, and which do not."
"Let us use our intelligence, together, to define our use and understanding of the word tradition, and once again, to proceed using it proudly."

-Duncan McCallum McRoberts It would be wise to start using classic styles again, we need to get over our post-WWII fear of classic and ornate things. "Have you ever looked at a bizarre building design and wondered, "What were the architects thinking?" Have you looked at a supposedly "ecological" industrial-looking building, and questioned how it could be truly ecological? Or have you simply felt frustrated by a building that made you uncomfortable, or felt anger when a beautiful old building was razed and replaced with a contemporary eyesore? You might be forgiven for thinking "these architects must be blind!" New research shows that in a real sense, you might actually be right." - Quinlan Terry

  1. Old buildings are cultural heritage! People should look at the buildings not their stupid phones!
  2. Fabulous!! feel good architecture. Modern architecture depresses and is soulless. Nobody ever wants to photograph modern eyesores.
  3. Harks back alright...
