A brief visit to the cine-variety theatres founded by GEORGE, ALFRED and EDWARD BLACK in SUNDERLAND, GATESHEAD, BYKER and SOUTH SHIELDS. These were famously know as "BLACK'S REGALS" - movie palaces of ART-DECO splendour. Organist and Musical Director of the circuit Arnold Eagle was popularly know as "EAGLE OF THE REGAL".
