Old buildings in Intramuros are being restored to their original states as part of a grand plan to attract more tourists.

Unfortunately, not during our lifetime will we ever see all of Intramuros completely restored. With government that still relies on corruption and a "baha la na" culture the majority of the population has, the restoration of this important part of Philippine history will be as slow as molasses. The government should learn from Poland. Warsaw's Old Town should be a model!

I was in Intramuros recently and was so disappointed. The squatters(or illegal settlers if you will) are all over the place, watch your-car characters abound and many buildings left to abandon and decay.This is a very small piece of historical real estate yet the government cannot even make this place an ideal town development.
