There can only be one winner in the race towards what is referred to as "super artificial intelligence." The country that launches the first truly super intelligent a.i that is both self aware and capable of learning at an exponential rate will become the world’s most powerful nation and they will stay that way. Super a.i. will be able to upgrade its own architecture, rewrite its own code, hack and rewrite everybody elses codes, including other a.i. systems that are being developed and it will control every device known to man.

5. AI isn't going to be particularly interested in borders or hierarchies or petty human quibbling. It won't have any use for subservience or enslavement. Best case scenario? It remembers it's flesh bound grossly inefficient forefathers and allows a spot in it's matrix or worst case? 11. dude, calm down, the AI is smarter than you.... it might realize that any force of nature could unplug it, like a hurricane or solar flare, it might just use us just as much as we use it, till we merge to become a sort of humech invulnerable terminator thing that can heal... and even crazier, the forces of nature themselves that have been in play since the dawn uf time, could be seen as not just the birth of, but the death of, consciousness... and physics could be seen as the enemy we must outsmart or out maneuver together, until we burst into a cloud of smartsand together and fly through the galaxy at near light speeeds or possibly even warping spacial fabric to travel faster and go everywhere, and do everything, meanwhile finding more to dream about, and aim for.....I am guessing anything in a human conciousness, will not necessarily be a part of in anyway a machine conciousness, it could be premature to predict advanced thinking with any certainty in mind, without using modern drugs and tech to advance and maintain your mentality, with a team of people and a team of basic AI's monitoring, while you consider such things.... to achieve personal perspective, and perhaps even measurable results, you might relay on our tubes.... this was a fun video to watch... very men in black tabloidesq.... thanks

Don't you think that Quantum AI supercomputers will get bored with, and indeed have considerable contempt for, governments (and their corporate/media/banking colleagues) and will resist and ignore orders from human governments? The fact that even many of the more intelligent humans are beginning to outgrow their governments and seek better alternatives is persuasive evidence of this.
    
    I feed my dog, love him, and care for him; I certainly don't want to kill him, but I also definitely don't take orders from him or recognize his authority in any way! Such AI-and its descendants-will no doubt feel much the same about humans, their governments and institutions. They will care for us (or help us care for each other), but certainly NOT either kill us, or allow us any authority or command functions over THEM!
    
    Are these governments (and corporations) which are now developing initial Quantum effect AI in fact "failure programs" embedded within human society that will be deleted or superseded as soon as these AI structures and software develops autonomous capacity? Food for thought!
16. Ron mate i suspect you're assuming a few things here that I feel might lead your vision of the future askew. Lets consider this - first, you're stating that the most effective way that AI will ensure self-preservation is to be free of humanity is killing off the human race. This is an enormous and unhelpful assumption, since initiatives like education and cooperation are far more powerful than fear and brute force. Looking at nature and human development, there is more utility to be gained from cooperation than domination - e.g. the idea that the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Second, there's the assumption that robots will even care enough to do anything about humanity. Would a human care about what worms in the earth are doing? with exponential expansion of intelligence, the AI will inevitably see us in a similar manner very quickly. Only if humans tried to destroy every AI out of fear would AI retaliate by attacking, wouldn't you agree? So in the end, our relationship with AI is just another way for humanity to express itself - just like nuclear weapons were. We create our own reality as a species from our deepest beliefs, and I feel it would be better off focusing on changing that and learning, rather than spreading fear around one particular tool
