Shanghai Architecture - Le Gascogne by Paul Veysseyre, Alexandre Leonard and Arthur Kruze Architects

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Le GASCOGNE was built in 1932 on a 4553 square meters land. The Art Deco design is from French architects agency Leonard Veyssiere and Kruze (LVK). The complex of two buildings developes a 13138 square meters of floor area. The front building on the Huaihai street (formerly 1202 Avenue Joffre) is 5 floors. The rear building is 53 meters high and with 13 floors. It was transformed to service apartment. The interior has been completely destroyed in 2007 by an abusive renovation and bears no resemblance to the jewel it once was.
