Solarstone. Electronic Architecture 2 (Official Promo Trailer)

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

In 2009 Solarstone released 'Electronic Architecture'... a knowing kick-back against the throwaway nature of today's mix CD. It was nominated for Best Compilation Album at the 2010 WMC International Dance Music Awards, running against releases by Deadmau5, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond and Armin van Buuren. It won press plaudits (and fan acclaim) for its imaginative concept, with Tilllate Magazine hailing it as "a magical blend of music, art and design" and DJ Mag calling it "a genuine gem". As designated by its 'squared2' tag this is not just a follow-up, nor simply a 'Pt.II', but an evolutionary next stage in the EA story, Electronic Architecture2 will unfold a landscape sound-design like no other. Using studio-born, super-immersive mixing techniques crossed with bespoke graphical aspects, Electronic Architecture's geometric/isometric futuristic sky-cities will rise again. Over at the EA2 website - http://www.electronicarchitecture.co.uk - you are able to deconstruct EA2's cover art and re-build your own version of its spectacular super-structure. As the release date gets closer, so excerpts of the music will be premiered there and they will combine with this powerful, yet simple-to-use tool to create an incredible, thoroughly unique interactive experience! We will shortly be announcing a competition in which a selection of EA2 prizes will be awarded to fans who come up with the best personalized re-work of the EA2 art, so make sure you save a screen shot of your EA2 Art creation. And what about the music -- the Ying to the visual's Yang...? To uncover the 100% exclusive audio it carried, the original Electronic Architecture required a prodigious, exhaustive A&Ring mission... EA2 was no different! Seeking out music from newest, most talented electronic dance producers out there (from far-flung corners of the globe like China, Kenya, Japan and Australia) took Solarstone 9 months of precision dot...connecting. From the early dystopian, Blade Runner-esque micro-prog of Piotro's 'Mist' thru to the thoroughly utopian trance shimmer of Aerium's 'Icedive' and Elfsong's 'Eta Carinae', the album pans out to reveal its full musical panorama. Treating the blending of its composite tracks more like that of a full-length musical composition, it creates a deep and intricate mix where you'll hear echoes of tracks long before they fully reach the laser. Some of EA1's alumni return - Jahawi, Majera and Alucard all help to re-anchor the album's unique tone-set, while there's audio from progressive hall-of-famers too -- Tilt, Hybrid and Medway among them. Solarstone's naturally is well represented too with Orkidea's glowing recreation of last year's 'Touchstone' and the new single 'Big Wheel' both premiering on the album. Come April 25th the audio/visual élan of Electronic Architecture's successor will be released in full via Solaris Recordings. For electronic dance fans around the world, it will not be a multimedia event to miss. Comments

  1. So proud i own a hard copy of this one, its just amazing. can't wait for him to release the 3th chapter :-)
  2. so is there going to be a 3rd one?
  3. Rich Solarstone is amazing.... John Digweed is amazing.... DJ mag top 100 came out today, the top two Dj's on that list are NOT amazing.
  4. @99trance Solarstone himself said that Big Wheel doesn't follow the traditional trance format and the song is great, so you don't know what your talking about.
  5. Just because you don't like a certain style of music doesn't mean that it's bad, it just means you don't like it... This compilation is awesome though.
  6. Solarstone one of my favourite djs!!!
  7. @distantlandmusic I don't get it... I've been listening to trance for as long as I remember, and I love all of armin's compilations in addition to above and beyond. I ALSO like solarstone. You guys are f'in retarded. It's ALL trance.
  8. Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Original) is bar far better.
  9. amazing ;-)
  10. I honestly can't wait to get this on CD.
  11. @cyanchild Who cares though, let people categorize it how they need to. Just because they say it's trance doesn't make it trance does it? You might call this progressive house whilst i might call it progressive trance, yet one could argue there isn't too many differences between the two. My point is that people will call it what they want and there is no point in criticizing them for it. I just call it an album of beautiful music.
  12. In fact let me just sum up if you think TATW is the best trance radio show, love Daniel Kandi, think Armin and Tiesto are as good as ever, think Gareth Emery is brilliant, think Armada releases nothin but trance then i cant take you all seriously ! This album is not all trance yes but the very majority is ... Deep, tech, progressive, melodic whatveer style ... Trust me this destroys anything Kandi or Anjunabeats will ever release ! TATW radio show Episode 370 is terrible !
  13. I read all your post then and as soon as i read the part where you said Trance Around the World is the best trance podcast i just couldnt take you seriously ... Sorry pal x
  14. @trancegalaxia Great to hear that mate ... Trust me at that age you one of a very few who understand the difference in quality trance and the stuff you hear now ..... Really really nice to hear it mate ... Buying the album today ; - )))))))
  15. @99trance dude im 21 and i agree with your comment ive been listening to trance and electronic music since i was really young. It sucks how armin , tiesto sold out and you are right about the new stuff from Mat Zo and Arty also add gareth emery to the list too he's another sell out for making popppy dance now :-(
  16. @distantlandmusic I understand exactly what you mean. There is a lot of tat out there, but I wouldn't say Anjunabeats is anything but quality. It just happens to be my favourite record label but i could list recent releases that have blown the minds of hundreds. It doesn't matter what you think trance 'should' be like, thats why there are so many different labels and artists doing their own for trance. You find what you like. Whats wrong with trance having more than one face?
  17. @agm16 I have a very good idea what I am talking about. You have no idea of what I am talking about. LOL! Thats you if you love it.... But the SHIT thats releasing today from Anjunabeats and Armin is NOT HOW TRANCE SHOULD BE, its fucking garbage. Thats my POINT. AND Solarstone. Electronic Architecture BRINGS BACK SOUND OF TRUE TRANCE.
  18. Fantastic album. Love the choice of tracks and the way they all blend nicely with each other. Easy to listen to and just loose yourself in. The attention to detail is astonishing and i just love the names of the tracks as well! Love that Elfsong track as well, so uplifting! Got the signed copy and i think ill be listening to this a fair few times over the coming weeks :)
  19. @distantlandmusic You have no idea what your talking about. I absolutely love this album, as a matter of fact its one of my favourites, but do not even think to slate Anjunabeats or Armin for what they do as they do it a damned sight better than any one else in that area of trance. You can't just say that this is 'how a compilation is supposed to sound like' because this is a completely different type of trance. Also I hate to say it... Music is subjective. Winds me up comments like that.
  20. fk armin's awful asot pop compilations and anjunabeats happy candy kids trance... this is how a compilation suppose to look. solaris international radio show rocks as well!
