Steampunk may, therefore, be described as neo-Victorian. Steampunk perhaps most recognisably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era's perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art.[citation needed] Such technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or the modern authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld, Stephen Hunt and China Miéville.[original research?] Other examples of steampunk contain alternative history-style presentations of such technology as lighter-than-air airships, analogue computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine.

  9. I love the story along with your video. I was the same with my dad forever asking questions. In the early 90's I was working as a hotel reservations manager in a hotel in Connecticut and had the honor of booking and greeting many well known guest. Ladysmith Black Mambazo was one of them. Joseph Shabalala, the founder and music director, invited me as his guest to a concert in the Stamford Theatre. I also had fun going up on stage along with other members of the audience to try to dance their choreography, lol! I own the CD of the cassette tape your mentioned. I love the lamp you made for your aunt, did she like it? Steam punk is an awesome design. By the way, I work at Home Depot. I run the paint department and for a short time I ran electrical too so I recognized all the products you used. I subscribed to your channel and I am looking forward to other videos of your woodworking ideas.
