Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Lead architect Graham Stirk gives an exclusive guided tour of 'The Cheesegrater' – aka the Leadenhall building, standing at 225m, the tallest office tower ever to be built in Britain. 1. What's the music in the background?
  2. The narrator is fresh out of Twickenham!
  3. Huh? The Leadenhall Building has NEVER been "the tallest office tower ever to be built in Britain" It was only the 4th tallest when completed. And even if we are being pedantic, and the narrator means"office only" building, thus excluding the Shard which includes Hotels and apartments, it's still shorter than 2 all office buildings, Heron Tower (completed 3 years earlier) and One Canada Square (built 23 years previously). Graham Stirk even corrected him when he made this error, yet it's kept in the introduction.

    Why? Was he not listening?
  4. Why is the Taj Mahal one of the most beautiful buildings in the world? People travel from all over the world just to see it. Why does the Walkie Talkie have to look like that or the Cheese grater what a wasted opportunity.  They could have done something really amazing and breathtaking and really put London on the map!  Instead of these childish dumb stupid shapes, its not very sophisticated, its lazy design
  5. Why is british architecture soo ugly when it could be beautiful.  So many eyesores and this stuff will stand for decades.  It reminds me of the Iron Angel what that was all about is beyond me.  The Romans had the right idea they created beautiful environments for themelves all the british are doing is making London ugly we have bad weather and now ugly buildings to stare at.
  6. Another reason to knock down the Walkie Talkie, so you can have an uninterrupted view of the Shard from your office.
  7. Woah
  8. I can see this building lying in bed looking out of my window...and it is beautiful!
  9. Why would you leave the erroneous assertion about the building's record height in the description, let alone the narration, when it's refuted later in the video itself?
  10. Van dat soort hoogbouw kunnen we in België (en zeker in Antwerpen) alleen maar dromen. In de stad aan de stroom worden tegenwoordig enkel schoendozen gebouwd. Zelfs toen er nog een (stads)bouwmeester was !
  11. Jaw dropping amazing!!
  12. I know that Aon Hewitt employees are greatly looking forward to moving in next year. Has Andy Cox earmarked an office yet?
  13. Watch out for Reapers!
  14. +DieselDucy +The Elevator Channel Hey there, thought you guys might be interested in checking the elevators out in the Cheesegrater. Potential future location!
