The Coliseum Cinema in Porthmadog was a beautiful art-deco building which was the location for The Prisoner TV series crew in 1966 to watch the rushes from each day's filming. It was also the location for the Premiere of the Hollywood Blockbuster First Knight. Sadly in 2016 the building was demolished, despite a campaign to save it. 1. Very annoying that I`ve had to drive a coach load of trippers past here but had no time to stop and photo the place.
2. I'm heading there now to get some pictures.
3. Many memories 90's conventions. We'd all go over to the Tiddly Widdly for the guest event where we had the choice of chicken or scampi. Then over to the cinema to watch whatever episode the guest starred in and one other episode. By the time we came out of there I'd have been on the go, running around the village for nigh-on 12 hours.
