The first secret of great design | Tony Fadell

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

As human beings, we get used to "the way things are" really fast. But for designers, the way things are is an opportunity ... Could things be better? How? In this funny, breezy talk, the man behind the iPod and the Nest thermostat shares some of his tips for noticing — and driving — change. 11. it has literally made me have less of them
  12. The reason why the Mail doesn't check itself is because, like every other government program, it sucks.
  13. I hate his approach to design - stickers are easy to remove if you wash your fruit before eating it like you are supposed to - apple products are overtly fine tuned for simplicity and as a result are lacking in functions and customisability - its dumbed down design - i was in google maps and had to spend 40 seconds randomly jabbing at the screen because there isnt a real back button on the iphone.

Design is about form, novelty and function - otherwise youre designing for dumb people
  14. Think broader, find problems that don't exist, think younger, pretend to be the customer...  This is all fucking common sense. Anyone who actually have experience in design and innovation have anything to add?  Maybe I'm missing an eye opening point Tony mentions?
  15. I eat there stickers
  16. So that's why apple logo has bit on it, they remove the sticker
  17. They charge the battery for you and you only pay 100 euro extra for it. How nice!
  18. Many fruit stickers are edible, I believe.
  19. omg, this is just mindfullness, come on
  20. Half way in I thought I was watching WWDC 2017.
