State Theatre at North Point (Formerly known as Empire Theatre) was designed by architect G.W. Grey and S.F. Liu back n 1952 It is a significant example of Post-War Modern Movement Architecture in Hong Kong. It’s exterior walls were constructed in Art Deco style. Several parabola arched structures are settled on its roof, a true engineering marvel back in the 50s State Theatre was recently sold to a development company and might be demolished. It is currently assessed for potential grading by the Antiquities Advisory Board of Hong Kong But it is unclear when this assessment will take place.
