The Kirsch "Sci Fi" Home, Oak Park, IL.

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

Oak Park Ill.'s a village known for its architecture the prairie school style of the early 20th century is in abundance... It has more Frank Lloyd Wright homes than anywhere else in the world. Modern is just not something you see in the town except at the corner of Fair Oaks and Greenfield where the Errol J Kirsch House is found. This early "green" house was built in the early 1980's and has a lot of passive solar design features. It's been called "the bunker" and it's been said to look like something out of the sci-fi flick "Logan's Run". I think that in a world of conformity it's nice to see something a little different. 3. I was an Oak Park resident from around 1974-2000 and it was a great place to live. I remember this house as being the "eyesore" because it was so peculiar in light of all the other residences of the village.
  4. Those trees were gorgeous I have some stills I took of them. I'll post them on +
