The White House in Craigmillar reopens

The White House, an Art-Deco style roadhouse, built by architect William Innes Thomson in 1936 in Craigmillar, Edinburgh, finally re-opened after years of neglect on the 18th March 2011 by Scottish Government Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill. It is to be intially used as a community resource housing exhibitions, but other uses are currently being considered.

  2. Lovely building, was a brothel for Italian officer POWs in WW2 allegedly. They were at a camp where Holyrood School is now. Brilliant to see this gem restored and put to good use,
