The World's Most Dangerous Path Isn't So Dangerous Any More

Concept, photos, videos, examples, construction

El Caminito del Rey, the King's Little Pathway, is now a tourist attraction near Malaga, in southern Spain. But once, it brought adrenaline junkies here - sometimes fatally. Now it's safe: but the internet doesn't really know that yet... 1. Ah so another word ya squeezed all of the fun out of it . GREAT
  2. My friend walked this path a few years ago before it was upgraded, we went back to it last year for some climbing in the area going thru the train tunnels in the morning and taking the path back the le chorro. but as it was closed for the day we had to climb over the entrence and rund over a nounten to awoid guards.... stil exciting though
  3. I remember there was a video of the old walkway a guy took with a freaking SteadiCam!
  4. never even heard of it and I'm 47 years old
  5. look at that lamination
  6. they closed it and built a new path to capitalize off the old self marketed danger path.
  7. They should have left it being dangerous, reapaired of course, but dangerous. Everything nowadays is so sterile and safe, even the (former) most dangerous pathway in the world. A little sad
  8. It's ridiculous how in recent decades we've become far less responsible for our own wellbeing. The people who died walking the path did so out of acceptance of the risks involved. We don't need our hands to be held by the government for everything we do, but this is increasingly becoming reality. One of the many reasons society is in sharp decline.
  9. How the heck does this guy get the money to go to the places to make ALL these fantastic videos...YouTube does not pay THAT much...do they?
Well, however he is financing it...PLEASE keep making them Mr. Scott. And get the warp drive online for Pete's sake.
Why he does not have a patreon account is beyond me.
  10. Awesome
  11. You wore a helmet to go for a walk? As if that's going to stop you falling off the side
  12. What amazing views!
  13. I hate the idea that this government had to step into protect people from themselves, but how the handled it was admittedly very smart. As he said just banning people from going there would only cause more people to die because the place would become an even more interesting forbidden fruit, so instead the government just made the place really safe and lame so it will attract a bunch of fat tourists and lose all appeal to people like myself.
  14. For some reason this story makes me really sad
  15. I think it's more interesting that how is it built.
  16. The irony just struck me: usually when people don't do reseach, they seem to put themselves in more danger than they anticipated. Here it's the other way around.
  17. I have to go here some day :)
  18. Still most dangerous path in the world- Should renamed El Caminito del Ray II- as a scam they have the same name.
  19. This feels like it has been ruined. Can I get some Cheetos at the entrance so I can munch on them while I absentmindedly wander along and update my Snapstergram? This looks like a place that used to be frequented by people who really burned for it. Now it seems like it'll just be an endless stream of people checking the name off of their pre-provided package holiday to do lists. Plus all the metal and wires are ugly.
